Dehiwala zoo in Colombo is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Sri Lanka.It houses a wide number of bird and animal species.It is located on Galle Road around 9.6 Km away from the center of Colombo city.Some of the animal species that can be found in this zoo are bears,tigers,lions,giraftes,rhinos and gorillas.John Hargenberg is the founder member of this zoo.Colombo government took the control of zoo in the year 1936.

The zoo is open at 8.30am to 6.00pm on everyday.

Elephants show is started at 4.30 pm on everyday

You can see an extra show at 3.30pm on Sundays and Holidays.
